DTN Weekly Average DDG Price Lower Again
DTN's weekly average spot price for domestic distillers dried grains is
lower versus one week ago.

MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers
dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Nov. 5 was
$178 per short ton on average, down $5 versus one week ago. DDG prices were
mixed but dropped again on average with pressure from the cash corn price and
soybean meal price continuing to move lower.
The DTN National Average Corn Index is down 8 cents per bushel versus one
week ago, while soybean meal futures price is down $12.10 per short ton versus
one week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative
to corn for the week ended Nov. 5 was 1.13%. The value of DDG relative to
soybean meal was 56.12% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $6.59
compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.68.
U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council in its weekly distillers dried grains
with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report showed December prices as of
Nov. 5: CIF NOLA barge price was down $7 at $264 metric ton (mt) versus one
week ago; FOB vessel Gulf price was up $2 at $280 mt; rail delivered PNW was
down $2 at $283; and rail delivered to California was down $5 at $273 mt.
Ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.143 million barrels per
day (bpd) in the week ended Oct. 30, the Energy Information Administration
reported on Wednesday. That's up 25,000 bpd week-on-week and 50,000 bpd, or
4.6%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.127
million bpd was 23,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol
production averaged 1.09 million bpd, up 28,000 bpd week-on-week and 58,000
bpd, or 5.6%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output
at 1.07 million bpd was 24,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
